I composed the score for Laura Isabel Schneider's beautiful animation film "Hooked on Illusions". The pictures inspired me to create an unsettling atmosphere, so I recorded a bunch of unusual sounds and turned them into hybrids with natural and synthetic elements.

Score: Hooked on Illusions

This historical drama podcast in true-crime style delves into the untold story behind the controversial 1972 book, "The Limits to Growth". Developed from late author Dana Meadows' unpublished memoirs and featuring rare original audio, the three-part podcast takes listeners on a journey with Dana and Dennis Meadows and their team, as they strive to inform the world about looming ecological threats and potential solutions.

I composed and produced the entire music score for *Tipping Point*, contributing to the project's overwhelming success. Utilizing a blend of electric guitar and synthesizers, my compositions served to heighten the narrative with intense moments, character themes and melancholic harmonies. The podcast was very positively received with tens of thousands of listeners in its first weeks, and more than 100 reviews across all major podcasting platofrms— every single one five out of five stars.</div>

*Tipping Point* received critical acclaim and endorsements also from sustainability scholars, journalists, climate organizations and  professional podcasters in the sustainability space, such as Rachel Donald of Planet:Critical.

Impressions

Animation artist Anne Fie Salverda and I created the opening act for the [Internationaal Filmfestival Assen 2023](https://filmfestivalassen.nl/), which focuses on presenting the works of female filmmakers. 

Our piece immersed the viewers in an audiovisual experience and functioned as the kick-off for the festival. It was inspired by the feminist theme of the festival and by the history of the province Drenthe, which is known for its bog bodies.

“Fractions” is a light & sound installation developed specifically for LUNA 2023, in collaboration with Dutch animation artist Anne Fie Salverda.

It was presented inside the Doopsgezinde church, located right in the city center of Leeuwarden and attracted more than two hundred visitors per hour. The visuals were projected and reflected onto the walls – bent and broken by glass objects – and visualized an abstract dream world.

In “Fractions”, the emphasis lies on contextual sound design: I took field recordings from Leeuwarden and Berlin as a basis and then incorporated musical expressions to create my own interpretation of the animation. The soundscape was played on four
speakers, allowing the sounds to interact with each other and with the space.

Anne Fie and I previously collaborated and created multidisciplinary work for the international project “KOMPOST: try to descibe a place”.



Parts of this installation will also be presented at LIGHTMOVE Festival in Tunis, Tunisia.
