About
Nora Beyer is a composer and producer based in Potsdam, Germany, who specializes in instrumental music and original film scores.
After taking up the drums at age 11, Nora Beyer played percussive instruments from timpani to marimba in youth philharmonic orchestras. Influenced by classical orchestrations for film, such as those of Alexandre Desplat and Jóhann Jóhannsson, she set about producing instrumental scores in her adolescence but has since also drawn inspiration from synthesizer sounds and ambient soundscapes (Trent Reznor, Sufjan Stevens, Vangelis, Lorn, Mica Levi).
In 2021, Nora Beyer was invited for an artist residency in the Netherlands by Popfabryk and Dutch talent hub New Noardic Wave. Her latest works were presented at European Media Art Festival 2022 (Germany), Internationaal Filmfestival Assen 2023 (Netherlands), Leeuwarden Urban Night Adventure (Netherlands) 2023 and LIGHTMOVE 2023 (Tunisia). Her understanding of movie production and emotional storytelling also led her to become a member of the jury for the International Film Festival Osnabrück in 2021.
She currently studies for a Master's degree in film music at the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF in Potsdam.
